Creative or Constructed Objects at SOURCE

What to know more about this presentation type?  Click HERE for an example.

The creative or constructed object category is a good option for projects that involve media that cannot be displayed in a two-dimensional format.  Creative or constructed objects may take many forms, including (but not limited to) 3D models, machines, devices, and/or visual art.  All forms of visual art are welcome, including original painting, sculpture, photography, prints, textile arts, fashion designs, drawings, pottery, jewelry, and metal works.

  • Each creative or constructed object entry must include a 250-word abstract in the form of an artist/presenter statement that describes their work and if appropriate, either the inspiration for their creation or the criteria used to construct the object.
  • At SOURCE, students are required to post their submitted or an expanded artist/presenter statement in conjunction with their work.  The statement should be a minimum of 8-1/2 by 11 with a font size no smaller than 16 points and a maximum poster size of 3 feet high by 4 feet wide. Wall space to hang this statement will be provided.
  • Presenters are responsible for setup, take-down, and oversight of their creative works. Unique requirements, such as electrical outlets, a need to hang on wall, a projector, tables, or other requests can be accommodated but students must specify those items in the online submission form.
  • Students must specify the approximate square footage needed for their display during their initial online submission.
