The CWU SOLVER Scholars Program provides financial, academic, social, and professional support for underrepresented minority students who are pursuing degrees in the STEM fields (science, technology, engineering, or mathematics). Financial support is provided as a scholarship of up to $10,000 per year for two years. Scholars are encouraged to pursue projects that combine STEM skills with traditional ecological knowledge and values to address community needs.
To generate highly qualified STEM graduates that reflect the diversity of our region and enhance the environmental health and sustainability of our communities.
The SOLVER committee values your honest appraisal of this applicant. Please write a letter of recommendation (approximately 1 page long) addressing the applicant’s character, integrity, potential to contribute to his/her community, and academic ability. Your letter will be most helpful if you give concrete examples or specific stories to illustrate the student’s community involvement, leadership, dedication, and potential for excellence in science, math, or engineering.
June 6: Decision letters were sent via the US postal service to the addresses on file.
