State Needs Projects

The State Needs Projects are funded with IDEA state level discretionary dollars to address needs that may not be adequately addressed with other resources within the state. The intent is that these projects serve families and practitioners through innovative and/or necessary topics relevant to the field of special education and that the projects provide a resource available to the entire state.

A statewide system which coordinates staff development and parent/community training to support services for children and youth with autism spectrum disorders
Provides statewide access to appropriate, accessible and affordable training designed to support educators in serving students with disabilities.
Strives to improve post-school outcomes for students with disabilities.
Provide quality in-service training to parents/families of students with disabilities, general and special education educators who work with students with disabilities.
Provides information to families and educators regarding individuals from birth to age 21 with sensory disabilities (deaf, hard of hearing, visually impaired, blind or deaf-blind).
Assists school districts and parents with the special technology needs of children with disabilities.
