The Country Wife presented by Central Theatre Ensemble.
This event is presented in collaboration with CWU's Department of Theatre Arts.

Written in 1675 by William Wycherley, The Country Wife is a sharp social satire that revolves around the trysts of one man who feigns impotence in order to have clandestine affairs with married women. Meanwhile, a young country wife arrives in London to discover the joys of big-city men.

At the time of its publication, The Country Wife was considered highly controversial for its risqué content. Performed by Central Theatre Ensemble, The Country Wife is done in high style with beautiful costumes and energy and is a must-see for those who love English period comedy.

Due to adult themes, the play is not appropriate for children under 13.
