Each year chemistry department faculty award several scholarships to chemistry majors. To be considered for any of these scholarships, students must complete a General Scholarship Application, available from the CWU Scholarship office in Barge 102 or online at http://www.cwu.edu/scholarships. Recipients are selected by a committee from the Chemistry Department. Must be classified as an upper-division student and have a 3.25 GPA prior to receiving this scholarship and maintain a 3.0 GPA during the course of the scholarship.
Recipients are selected by Chemistry Department faculty. Must be of junior or senior status, have at least a 3.0 GPA and be a declared chemistry major.
Students are nominated by academic departments based on organizational and social activities, academics, motivation and contribution to the department. Must be a junior or senior, a declared major in chemistry, able to demonstrate academic and leadership abilities, must have completed three consecutive quarters and be a full-time student at CWU.
For Freshmen and Sophomores- up to $3,000 for Juniors and Seniors. This program is designed to encourage African-American, Hispanic/Latino, American Indian and Alaskan Native students to pursue undergraduate college degrees in the chemical sciences. Applications typically due February 15.
Must be of Norwegian heritage, a sophomore or junior and majoring in chemistry, English, geology, geography, industrial education, mathematics, physics, science education, or participant in the Douglas Honors College. Applications typically due in June.
A combination of literature or foreign language and natural science or mathematics, and sophomore, junior, senior or graduate student at CWU. Applications typically due in June.
Awarded to superior and successful sophomores, juniors or seniors with a declared pre-medicine major. Must have a least a 3.5 GPA in the sciences, be of good character, show leadership ability and altruistic activities in his/her community, on campus, and with fellow students. Students may apply or be nominated by faculty. Applications typically due spring quarter.
