Tim Englund, Dean
Dr. Tim Englund received his Ph.D. from Michigan State University and his B.S. from Grand Valley State University. He has been a member of the mathematics faculty since 1998. His current primary research interests include interdisciplinary collaborations with colleagues in Nutrition & Health Sciences examining elementary school lunches. Previous research has focused on the representation theory of Chevalley groups. Prior to joining the Dean's office, he served one term at the chair of the Mathematics Department and as the Faculty Coordinator for the Ronald E. McNair Program at CWU.
Martha Kurtz, Associate Dean
Dr. Martha Kurtz received her Ph.D. from Arizona State University, her M.S. from University of Wisconsin-Madison, and her B.S. from Northern Arizona University. She has been a professor of Chemistry and Science Education at CWU since 1995. She is interested in studying best teaching and learning practices in the sciences. She has served as the Director of CWU's Center for Excellence in Science and Mathematics Education, Chair of the Science Education Department, Chair of the Chemistry Department Chair, and Interim Dean of the College of the Sciences. In 2008 Dr. Kurtz was honored as the CWU Distinguished University Professor for Service and in 2009 she was selected as the Washington State Higher Education Science Teacher of the Year by the Washington Science Teacher's Association.

Velma Henry, Administrative Assistant
Velma Henry joined the College of the Sciences in September 2008 as the Administrative Assistant to the Dean. She held positions in Registrar Services and Teacher Education Programs during the fifteen years prior and currently sits on the CWU Retirement Association board as the active staff member.
Dannica Price, Event Coordinator
Dannica Price joined the Center for Excellence in Science and Mathematics Education in 2014 as an Event Coordinator. She has been at CWU since 2011 and previously worked for Student Union Operations. Dannica earned her B.S Degree from Central Washington University in 2008.
Colleen Falconer, Program Coordinator
Colleen Falconer joined the College of the Sciences as the Program Coordinator in September 2015, providing support for STEP, Noyce SMART Scholar, Noyce SMART Affiliate, and Summer Research programs. She came to Central Washington University in 2013 to pursue her Masters of Science degree in Experimental Psychology. For the 2014-15 academic year, Colleen served as the Coordinator for CWU’s National Science Foundation grant funded SOLVER Program. In Spring of 2015, Colleen was recognized as an Outstanding Graduate Student Award from the CWU Psychology Department for her ambitious thesis work investigating dog play vocalizations under controlled laboratory conditions. She is in the latter stages of completing her MS degree.
Janis Orthmann, Administrative Assistant 3
Janis Orthmann joined the College of the Sciences in 2012 as an Administrative Assistant to the Associate Dean. She has been employed with Central Washington University since 2004 and has held positions in the Office of the Associate Provost and in the Office of International Studies and Programs. Janis earned her BA degree from Central Washington University.
