Equipment Checkout Policies and Procedures

Policies

  • Equipment is available for checkout to all CWU Faculty, Staff, and Students, and to Science Education Checkout Members. Non-members must fill out a membership application before checking out equipment.
  • A minimum of 24 hours notice is required for all requests. Due to staffing same day requests may not be available. 
  •  Equipment is checked out for a limited time as indicated on the checkout slip. Fees and holds on student accounts may be charged for late, damaged or non-returned equipment.
  • Replacement costs for used consumables, missing or stolen items or repair costs for broken items may be billed to the borrower.


Procedures

  • Fill out an Equipment Request Form and put it in the STEM Education (Located in Science 2, room 301) or submit a request online at cwu.edu/science-education. .
  •  All requests must be submitted at least 24 hours in advance of the requested pick up date.
  • The Science/STEM EducationTech will process your request during the next posted office hours and email you once it is ready for pickup. Please check your email as you may be emailed for clarifying details on your request.

Returns

  • Complete an Equipment Return Form and turn it in with the equipment.
  •  Equipment must be returned to a Science/STEM EducationEquipment Tech. If you cannot return it during the posted office hours, please contact us at STEM_Tech@cwu.edu to arrange an alternate return time.
  • The Science/STEM Education Equipment Tech hours are posted outside the equipment office located in Science II 301G or on the Science Education website, www.cwu.edu/science-education.
