Sarah Soule Patton Scholarship


The Washington State Society Daughters of the American Revolution requests applications for the Sarah Soule Patton Scholarship to be awarded for use in the 2015-16 academic year. Last year's award was $1,000. This scholarship can only be awarded to College Juniors majoring in history with an emphasis in United States History for tuition during their senior year.


Eligibility requirements:

  • United States citizenship
  • Good character
  • Scholastic excellence
  • College student majoring in History with emphasis in U.S. History
  • Financial need
Application Process: 

Application is by letter addressed to the chair of the scholarship committee: Ms. Jennie Willardson, 12722 East 23rd Ave, Spokane Valley, WA 99216-0327.

The student's application letter should describe his or her interests, past history and future ambition, explain his or her financial situation, and must include the following:

Transcript of grades (can be unofficial or copy of official).

A record of achievements (for example, honors, awards, service, scholarships).

An instructor's letter of recommendation.

The applicant's full name, address, and student body number.
