A one page essay expressing why you deserve a "second chance" at CWU

Submit a 2-page essay describing a humorous event or experience in which you have been involved

Additional materials must be postmarked or submitted to the Scholarship Office on or before March 1st.

1. Provide two letters of recommendation: (1) Faculty and (1) non relative that can speak to your leadership experience.
2. Required Essay: Applicant must address the following (500-1000 words max):

a. Who you are and how this scholarship will make an impact in your life

b. Personal definition of leadership

c. Applicant experience as a leader

d. Explain why you are qualified for the scholarship

Submit the following additional materials:

    * An essay addressing how you meet the criteria of the scholarship, why you are majoring in Construction Management, and why you feel it's important to establish a culture within the construction industry that promotes a safe work environment

State agency documentation proving your status as a current or former foster child (if applicable)

    * An essay of 2 pages or less addressing your career goals in the Safety & Health Management industry, involvement or membership in professional organizations, and university and/or community volunteer experiences.
    * Two letters of recommendation -- one must be from a faculty member in the Safety & Health Management program.  Preference given to students who submit a third letter of recommendation from a community leader (e.g. church, city, or county official, etc.).

Two letters of recommendation from former faculty/teachers addressing the following:

   1. A challenge faced by the student
   2. How the student overcame the challenge
   3. A description of the student's academic improvement
   4. The student's potential as a leader

    *A 500 word essay describing why you are the best candidate for this scholarship
    *Two letters of recommendation from faculty, community leaders, and/or program advisors

An essay answering the following questions: Why do I feel compelled to help underserved and underprivileged children? Why is it important to serve the children? What do I bring within me that can qualify me as a champion and advocate for children in need?

    * A portfolio of 6 to 10 pieces of original artwork in two or more media
    * A statement of interest and goals in art (not to exceed 250 words)
    * One letter of recommendation from a high school art instructor
    * Optional: A self-addressed stamped envelope for return of portfolio

* Submit 3 letters of recommendation: Two letters must be from faculty in two different academic disciplines, and one must be from a person outside the CWU community, qualified to evaluate your character and potential for becoming an excellent teacher
* A one-page essay expressing why you want to become a teacher

Finalists for the scholarship may be called upon to conduct a 15-minute teaching session with the scholarship selection committee.

1. Complete the General Scholarship Application through your Wildcat Connection account.
2. Submit the following additional materials: 

• Copies of your 3 letters of recommendation for admission to the graduate program, one of which must be written by the applicant's current or most recent principal or designee (Special Education master's candidates are not required to submit a letter form a principal or designee for admission, but must submit one for this scholarship).

          * A one-page essay expressing why you want to become a teacher
          * Three (3) letters of recommendation: Two (2) from CWU faculty in two different academic disciplines and one (1) from a previous college advisor qualified to evaluate your character and potential for becoming an excellent teacher
          * Unofficial transcripts from any college or university you attended before CWU

*Applicants selected as finalists will be required to conduct a 15-minute teaching session with the Scholarship Selection Committee.

*Three letters of recommendation

    * Three (3) letters of recommendation: Two (2) from CWU faculty in two different academic disciplines and one from a previous college advisor qualified to evaluate your character and potential for becoming an excellent teacher

    * A one page essay expressing why you want to become a teacher

*One page essay describing your involvement in leadership through extracurricular activities and/or your involvement with people with special needs

    Submit the following additional materials:

    Submit 3 letters of recommendation from people who have firsthand knowledge of your academic excellence, service, involvement, and leadership activities--only one recommendation may be from a CWU Special Education professor
    Copy of your unofficial transcript
 

* A one page essay expressing why you want to become a teacher

*An essay addressing how you meet the required and preferred criteria and why you are pursuing a career in Construction Management

-An essay of two (2) pages addressing your career goals in the Safety & Health Management profession involvement or membership in SHM related professional organizations
-Two (2) letters of recommendation- one must be from a faculty member in the Safety & Health Management program.

    * A one page essay describing your educational/career goals, your honors/awards, your involvement in civic or extracurricular activities, and reasons why you are the best candidate for the scholarship
    * Three letters of recommendation from non-relatives who can speak to your character, academic ability, and potential for success
    * A one page resume
    * Unofficial transcripts from any college or university you attended before CWU

* Two letters of recommendation from professors on campus
    * A two page essay addressing your purpose in choosing your field of study, your career plans, what receiving the scholarship will mean to you, and describe your relevant extracurricular activities
    * A 11x17 colored concept or trend board (PDF or printed) of a fashion design you would like to complete. The board should contain creative imagery which could include inspiration images, short verbiage on your inspiration, intended fabrics, color palette, flats, and sketches

    * A list of history courses taken and grades for each course
    * A list of honors and awards
    * A statement concerning your financial need
    * Unofficial transcripts from any college or university attended before CWU
    * A list of three references in the History Department who are familiar with your academic abilities

*Two letters of recommendation from faculty attesting to his/her potential in pursuing a History major

*Submit a 500-word essay describing your eligibility for a career in law enforcement and your personal attributes that distinguish you from other candidates in your ability to make positive contributions to law enforcement.

    * A four page essay discussing your career goals and motivation
    * Two (2) letters of recommendation: One (1) from a faculty member and one (1) from a non relative who can evaluate your character and potential to succeed in the Law and Justice field
    * Unofficial transcripts from any college or university your attended before CWU

*A 500 word essay describing your involvement or experience in volunteer and service learning

    * An essay describing the importance of developing contemporary skills in science teaching that is consistent with state and national science standards. Also describe your extracurricular activities, community service, or other outside work.

    * A 500 word essay describing your leadership experience in community service, student clubs, organizations, or other activities, and how your experiences have developed your leadership skills
    * Two letters of recommendation from faculty, community leaders, and/or program advisors

*A 500 word essay detailing your rodeo and community service/leadership activities-include length of time involved, level of involvement, names of organizations, associations/memberships, and awards earned

A one-page essay describing how working at the library has benefited you academically

1. Complete the General Scholarship Application through your Wildcat Connection account.
2. Submit the following additional materials: 

• A 500-word essay describing your involvement/experience in leadership activities
• Your resume

Additional materials must be postmarked or submitted to the Scholarship Office on or before March 1st.

• Letters of recommendation from the department chair and a department faculty member.

One essay (2 pages maximum, double spaced, 12-point font) demonstrating:

1. applicant's academic interest in Philosophy or Religions of India or China.
2. applicant's plan for fulfilling the class and thesis requirements to receive the scholarship.
3. how this course of study will be incorporated into the applicant's future career or life path.

• A double-spaced written statement containing the following: A clear, concise account of your reasons for seeking this scholarship and a description of your interest in physics. (Entering Freshmen: 300-word limit; Entering Transfers: 500-word limit)
