A social hour with light refreshments will follow at 5:00 p.m.

For CWU retirees, Pat McLaughlin and Dave Lygre, the phrase “adventure is out there” took on new meaning over the last three years. Their passion for cycling led to a real-life adventure in the form of a 2396-mile cycling trip that took them from Washington to Mexico. Travel companions included additional Ellensburg residents Craig Carlson, Steve Varga, and Mel van Houten.

Join us as Dave and Pat share photos and stories of their journeys through some of the most scenic areas of the west while facing the challenges of traveling by bicycle. The routes traveled include sections of the Sierra Cascades Bicycle Route which runs roughly parallel to the Pacific Crest National Scenic Trail. From Sumas, Washington to Tecate, California, Pat, Dave, and their fellow cyclists braved weather and mishaps to
experience the spectacular scenery and the exhilaration of “screaming down the Eastside of Washington Pass at thirty miles per hour”.

Wednesday, December 171418863291
