- Approval of PAC Minutes from August 5, 2009
Motion to approve the PAC Minutes from August 5, 2009 as presented by Dr. Street. Seconded by Dr. Pellett. No further discussion. Motion carried. - PAC Structure
Dr. Gaudino explained the changes to the PAC structure that he is recommending. This is the second time the group has seen these recommendations. The membership has been revised a bit to give a more representative voice at the table. Procedurally, the changes occurring are that the group will meet once a month, and agendas will be posted or emailed out two weeks in advance. Keith James asked for more student representation on the committee. The group agreed this was a good idea. Dr. Tullos made a motion to approve the policy with amendments. Seconded by Dr. Watson. No further discussion. Motion carried.

- Becky Watson - update on H1N1 planning
Becky Watson introduced Mike Luvera, who is the coordinator for emergency management. He explained that a group of folks are working to be prepared for a possible H1N1 outbreak. The overall goal is prevention and an immediate campaign is underway. The communication plan is to get posters and letters sent to parents, faculty, staff and students as soon as possible. There is a website that will be up and running soon that will have information and updates as well. The website is located at: http://www.cwu.edu/police/emergency-management. Dr. Horsley then game some background on the differences between seasonal influenzas and the H1N1 virus. He added that the Center for Disease Control has a great deal of information on the virus as well. You can check out that website at: http://www.cdc.gov/flu/. Dr. Gaudino asked Tracy Pellett and Sherer Holter to get a group together to look at our current policies for students and employees regarding absenteeism/grading policies. Dr. Watson gave a summary of the communication that will be going out regarding this issue. A letter will be going out to parents and students a week prior to school. A letter will also go out to faculty and staff. An H1N1 button has been added to the CWU homepage as well. Dr. Tullos suggested that this topic being discussed at the upcoming Chairs Retreat, New Faculty Orientation, and Fall Faculty Day.
