President Gaudino reported that he participated in a conference call this morning with Rob McKenna, the Washington State Attorney General, regarding alcohol energy drinks. He added that there may be new legislation introduced regarding this issue so CWU may be asked to help support the issue. The state's next revenue forecast will be out on November 18. We have a new board of trustee member, Ron Erickson. Mr. Erickson graduated from CWU in 1966 with a Bachelor of Arts in History. He is currently CEO of Visualant, Inc. George Clark has accepted the position of VPO/CFO and will be on campus January 10. Bill Vertrees is in Olympia today with Ed Day working on the bond sale for the new Barto Hall. The Board of Trustees will have a telephonic meeting tomorrow to approve the sale of the bonds. The CWU Foundation has hired an executive director, Forrest Rodgers. He will begin November 7.
Patricia Cutright reported that today is the last day of the Library book sale. She added that November is National Native American Month.
Tracy Terrell reported that November is also National Veteran's Awareness month. Registration for winter quarter has started and they anticipate about 550 new students for winter quarter.
Carmen Rahm thanked everyone involved in the very successful test of our CWU Alert System. It went very smoothly and was a great team effort.
Jen Gray stated that October was a phenomenal month with all of the wonderful activities that were held. She added that University Advancement is in the process of developing ways to highlight our alumni. This year's distinguished alumni awards were excellent and we need to have a better way of distributing this information.
