Dr. Soltz will preside. Dr. McIntyre is in Olympia at the Senate Higher Education meeting this morning.
Present: Dave Soltz, Rich Corona, Charlotte Tullos, Paul Baker, Libby Street, Jeffrey Dippmann, Jadon Berry, Leslie Webb, Rebecca Bowers, Becky Watson, Shelly Johnson
Guests: Sherer Holter, Nancy Howard, Carmen Rahm
Judy Miller, Board Secretary:
Ms. Miller distributed several policies for the group to review. It was decided that the Suspended Operations policy would be brought back to the first meeting in February so that Dr. McIntyre is present to hear the background. The Book Bundling policy was reviewed and discussed. Ms. Miller explained that she took the actual statute and folded it into our policy. She added that we are required by law to have this policy so there is not much leeway in the language. Mr. Corona will discuss the policy with Steve Rittereiser and Steve Wenger. Jeffrey Dippmann will distribute to the senate executive committee for their review as well. This will come back at a later date for final approval. Ms. Miller explained that the Fine and Decorative Art policy was reviewed for the first time in November 2006. The group had suggested that Ms. Miller consult with Linda Marra on guidelines for the procedures. She has done that and the procedures are now on line. Some alternate language was suggested for the policy. This policy will also come back at a later date for final approval. The ASCWU Board of Directors has suggested a revision to the non-discrimination policies pertaining to students. Dr. Bowers would like to bring this policy back February 7, 2007. She will review the Military Code of Conduct and wordsmith this draft a bit. The group agreed that this was a good idea. Board of Trustees' agenda items are due to Ms. Miller by Monday, January 22.
