Find your device's MAC address:


X-Box 360

Playstation 3

Wii


Register Your Device

Once you have the MAC address, plug the network cable into a computer that has already been registered on ResNet via wired connection (ethernet).

  1. Navigate to https://hostreg.resnet.cwu.edu/ (The site may come up as untrusted. Go ahead and add and confirm the security exception) NOTE: This site is only accessible from Residence Halls on the main CWU Campus.
     
  2. Enter your CWU Safari/Wildcat Connection username and password
     
  3.  There will be a field asking for an 'Ethernet Address'. Enter the MAC address from above into this box.
     
  4. From the 'Operating system' pulldown menu select "Wii"
     
  5. Click "Agree and Submit"
     
  6. Once you have done this, wait 15 minutes.
     
  7. Plug the network cable into the Wii and restart the console. The Wii should be able to access the internet now.

Finding the X-Box 360 MAC Address:

These instructions are for configuring a Microsoft XBox 360 for use with ResNet.

  1. Turn on the XBox 360 system. Plug the network (category 5) cable into the ethernet port and into the back of the XBox.
     
  2. Select the "System Settings" box
     
  3. Select "Network Settings"
     
  4. Select "Wired Network"
     
  5. Select "Configure Network"
     
  6. Select "Additional Settings" tab by moving the joystick to the right.
     
  7. Select "Advance Settings"
     
  8. At the bottom you will find the "MAC Address" which you will need to write down.

 


Finding the PlayStation 3 MAC Address:

These instructions are for configuring a Sony PlayStation 3 for use with ResNet.

  1. Plug the network (category 5) cable into the ethernet port and into the back of the PlayStation.
     
  2. On the PS3: Go to "Setttings"
     
  3. Scroll down to "Network Settings"
     
  4. Scroll down to "Settings and Connections Status List"
     
  5. At the bottom you will find the "MAC Address" which you will need to write down.

 


Finding the Wii MAC Address:

These instructions are for configuring a Nintendo WIi for use with ResNet.

  1. Turn on the Wii system. Plug the network (category 5) cable into the ethernet port and into the Wii.
     
  2. Click the Wii button in the lower left corner to pull up "Wii Options"
     
  3. Select "Wii Settings"
     
  4. Click the right arrow
     
  5. Select "Internet"
     
  6. Select "Console Information"
     
  7. The screen will display the MAC Address which you will need to write down.
