Student employees are a valued asset to University Recreation. To ensure success of our student employees as professionals, University Recreation has created a Student Employee Council (SEC). The purpose statement of the SEC follows here:
"CWU’s University Recreation Student Employee Council serves as a liaison between student and professional staff and facilitates interaction across all areas within University Recreation. The SEC provides opportunities:
• Where success meets reward and leadership meets action;
• Where networking for staff works integrally with professional development;
• Where community and student appreciation is an everyday activity; and
• Every student employee’s voice is heard."
The goals of the SEC are to serve as a liaison between student and professional staff, effectively diffuse conflict in the workplace, provide learning opportunities for student employees during employment to prepare them for post-graduation, and to provide professional development opportunities for student employees interested in recreation.
Each work area within University Recreation has it's own unique SEC representative. Student employees are welcomed to contact their representative at any time regarding their employment within University Recreation. If you are interested in being the next representative for your area, please contact Ann at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Additional resources for student employees can be accessed below.
In addition, the University's student code of conduct can be accessed here.
Please ask your supervisor if you have any questions about any of these documents.
