(ELLENSBURG, WA – June 5, 2012) The CWU Wake Sports team battled both weather and 12 other collegiate teams to bring home an impressive fourth place finish at the 2012 Collegiate Wake Board National Championships in Guthrie, Oklahoma this past weekend. Coverage will be aired on CBS Sports Network Wednesday, July 11 at 6 p.m. as part of the Alt Games, presented by Jack in the Box®.
“The entire team performed on a national stage, ” CWU Wake Sports Club president Eddie Roberts said. “We continue to put Central on the national radar and show that we can ride with the best.”
Central riders competed in all seven classes, including both men’s and women’s categories. In the Men’s A class Thomas Olson, spring quarter USBank Scholarship winner, placed second overall. Brent Lund and Corbin Schafer also took second place in the Men’s B and D classes respectively. Teammates Patrick Mahoney, Michelle Moos, Kodie Trinidad and Roberts also competed and scored to help CWU Wake Sports continue to be a strong force in the national collegiate wake board circuit.
Wakeboarding will also be featured as part of the Alt Games Highlight Show, presented by Jack in the Box®, Saturday, July 15 at 11 a.m. on the CBS Television Network.
