Are you ready for something different? Leave it to us to be on the cutting edge and bring the hottest fitness craze in North America to Ellensburg. University Recreation is excited to announce our Team Training. It seems so new, yet this type of fitness has been around for over 150 years. How do we explain it? Many people strength train with weights while others do cardio or aerobics – somewhere between is our group coaching, the new concept offered at the Recreation Center from Personal Training. Get the benefits of both. Your body will get stronger, your cardiovascular fitness will improve and you will burn calories and watch your body change.
This new concept is set-up in group class with certified Trainers using tools including kettlebells, sand bags, ropes, medicine balls, TRX’s and other fun, different equipment. This type of training is a great way to shake things up and give you a full body workout, burn a ton of calories, and get your metabolism going. A kettlebell is basically a weight with a handle on it that can be used for numerous exercises you don’t typically see in a gym. It may seem intimidating at first and I highly recommend that you have an instructor teach you how to work out using them. There is some skill involved, but anybody can learn and we can teach you at the Recreation Center. There is absolutely no way to describe this workout without inviting you to try it.

Group training is a great opportunity to:
We have two options for Group Training.
Team Training which is groups ranging from 8-12 individuals. The workouts are total body calorie obliterators. Programing is primarily designed to loose weight while sculpting your muscles. Team Training is programmed for the afternoons and you'd train twice a week with Friday being an open session in the training studio. Included with your team training would be an unlimited group fitness pass for the quarter to keep you busy on your off day. The cost in 130 dollars for the quarter.
Semi Private Training is groups ranging from 3-6 individuals. The workouts are tailored to your specific goal and you won't necessarily be doing the same workout as the other individuals in the group. Programing is based on goal and ability and would take place twice a week. Included with your semi private training would be participation in team training in the afternoon two times a week, an unlimited group fitness pass for the quarter and the open session in the training studio on Friday. The cost for semi private training is 200 dollars for the quarter.
