Cox and Lee take the French Quarter for CWU Recreation

ELLENSBURG, Wash.  -  Two CWU Recreation coordinators will take the French quarter this November and bring a little slice of Ellensburg with them. Alex Lee, the Indoor Recreation Operations and Camps coordinator and Claire Cox, the Health Programming and Marketing coordinator, will present at the NIRSA & ACUI Collegiate Marketing Institute in New Orleans, Louisiana, on Marketing Beyond Campus: Advancing Camp C-Woo.

Lee and Cox will present on expanding Camp C-Woo’s portfolio, strategies of communication, processes of planning, and implementation of Camp C-Woo marketing materials and tactics.

“I am looking forward to sharing my passion for Camp C-Woo and the changes that have been made over the last 2 years” said Lee.

Camp C-Woo is a recreational and educational program offered by Central Washington University Recreation. It is an activity based camp for young children ages 5-12. Not only has this program grown immensely in the past 14 years, but under Lee’s direction the program has flourished within the community.

During the 2017-18 academic year, the Camp C-Woo’s brand image was updated and the outcome has been massive. The changes that were made included restructuring our community outreach and expanding our camp events to include Parents Night Out, Spring Break Camp, and Summer Camp.
“This will be a great opportunity for the CWU Recreation team to share our strategies that make marketing to the greater community more impactful.” Cox said.
