Climbing Wall

Fall Quarter 2021 Hours
The climbing wall is open for bouldering 10am-9pm Monday through Friday and open 12pm-6pm Saturday & Sunday. Each week on Monday & Wednesday from 3-5pm, Tuesday & Thursday from 2-3:50pm and Friday from 2-6pm the climbing wall is closed.

The University Recreation Climbing Wall stands 50-feet at its highest point and offers climbers an excellent mental and physical workout.  Whether you are new to climbing or you have been doing it for years, the CWU Climbing Wall offers clinics and classes that will suit your needs. We offer one to two-day clinics on technical skills and movement technique for many levels of experience as well as quarter-long classes, which can be taken for college credit.

Want to build your skills? See how you fare against other climbers? Starting at noon on Oct. 24th, climbers will be given a scorecard to track your completed routes over two weeks. Each route will have a point value (with a bonus for completing it in your first attempt). At the end of two weeks, by 6pm Nov. 6th, your top 5 scores will be tallied and the highest scores will be awarded prizes in the three categories: Beginners (V0-V2), Intermediate (V3-V5), and Advanced (V6-V8).

BONUS! Get a free t-shirt if you climb in a costume* on Halloween, 10/31!
*(no sharp, rigid, or dangerous costumes that could cause injury if you fall)

    This event is FREE!

To Register, follow this link to the Recreation Portal. Click on the icon for intramural sports on the main page, and a drop down with an option to Register will show. Click that, scroll down to Climbing, and you will find Cranksgiving as a subcategory there.
