Athletic Training

University Recreation offers a unique free service to Recreation Center members. If you are experiencing pain related to an injury, then our Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) can help. An ATC is an allied health care professional who specializes in the prevention, evaluation, treatment, management and rehabilitation of athletic injuries.

The athletic training facility in the Recreation Center provides state-of-the-art equipment to help you recover effectively from injury. Additional services include electrical stimulation, ultrasound, stabilization exercises, and techniques to enhance flexibility and range of motion. The athletic training office is located at the north end of the main corridor just past the basketball courts. To make an appointment, email wittkopp@cwu.edu or call ahead (509) 963-3550.

Our certified athletic trainer is licensed in the state of Washington, is certified as a Strength and Conditioning Specialist, and is a member of the National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA) and National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). She also works closely with the Student Health Center to ensure that the proper care is provided for each member, and if needed will refer you to a physician.
