At Central, a 5k always invites participants to complete the course as best they can – whether at a run, jog or walk. However, a 5k that invites its attendees to face fearsome zombies is a whole new adventure. University Recreation, Winegars and the CWU Law & Justice Club will host the Zombie 5k, Saturday, Nov. 2. Come out to the SURC East Patio at 5 p.m. to register for this one of a kind race. Human participants take off at 6 p.m. and should be prepared not only for a fun 5k, but the apocalypse, as zombies will be lurking around the course.
Participants will receive a drawstring bag and registration is only $15 at the Recreation Center or online at www.cwu.edu/tickets. Proceeds will be donated to the Behind the Badge Foundation, an organization dedicated to aiding the families of fallen police officers. The first 25 to register will receive a free Behind the Badge t-shirt.
This event features mature themes, and participants are asked to please not bring pets – zombies gobble dogs like breakfast cereal.
Don’t miss the chance to make a contribution and show off your ability to outrun even the fiercest of zombies.
