Scott Olson, author of ten books and many articles, essays and stories, as well as editor of six books and two journals, will be reading at Central’s Museum of Culture and Environment in Dean Hall Friday, Nov. 8 at 7:30 p.m. This event is free and open to the public. Books will be available for purchase at his reading courtesy of The Wildcat Shop.
Primarily a nature writer, Olson incorporates his knowledge of airplanes, fires, rural communities and nature into his work.
Olsen is the author of several books, including "At Speed: Traveling the Long Road between Two Points" and "Hard Air: Adventures from the Edge of Flying." He is also the author of a blog called “A Week in Fire,” and is the editor of many anthologies. Olson was listed among the Notable Essays in "Best American Essays" for the years: 2013, 2011, 2010, 2008, 2004, 2003, 1998, and 1997.
He is now a professor of English at Concordia College in Moorhead, Minn. and editor in chief of the literary journal "Ascent."
