Regardless of wealth, families should enjoy sharing a gift with their young girl or boy. To all you kind souls please come to the SURC and show that you care. Central’s own spirits of holiday glee have set up the annual Giving Tree (on the first floor of the SURC through Dec. 2).
The tree is covered in tags from girls and boys, expressing their needs and preference in toys. For these low-income children, gifts are rare. So this winter season, please help and share.
Stocking Stuffer bags will also be in the vicinity! Each Stocking Stuffers bag says girl or boy, and you fill it with small school stuff and toys. If you take a tag, it’s your task to bear to donate the item written on there. Please drop off your bags and gifts for the tree upstairs in the SURC, room 256B.
When the Center for Leadership and Community Engagement (CLCE) has counted the gifts and checked them twice, they’ll deliver them, come snow, fog, or ice. At the CLCE, there’s something we feel, something important that means a great deal: every young child should have a good reason to have a big smile this winter season.
