ASCWU-BOD Primary Elections
April 22 and 23
SURC Pit and Voting Stations
Election season at CWU is heating up as students vie for positions on the Associated Students of CWU Board of Directors (ASCWU-BOD). The elections kick off with the Primary Elections, which will be followed by the General Elections in May.
There are seven positions on the ASCWU-BOD that students are running for and all positions, except for President, have two or fewer candidates running. Therefore, students are encouraged to vote in the Primary Elections to decide which two of the three presidential candidates will run against each other in the General Election. The candidates for President include Joshua Osborn, Kathryn O’Neal and Yosef Gamble. Primary Election online voting will be open April 22 from 12:01 a.m. to 7 p.m. and the polling sites at the SURC East and West entrances from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Results for the Primary Elections will be posted April 22 by 11:59 p.m.
The elections for all other positions will be decided exclusively by the General Election. Philip Rush is running unopposed for Vice President for Clubs and Organizations, Spencer Biallas is running unopposed for Vice President for Equity and Community Affairs, Cassandra DuBore is running unopposed for Vice President for Legislative Affairs, Jennifer Treadway is running unopposed for Vice President for Academic Affairs, Robert Lane and Scott Kazmi are running for Vice President for Student Life and Facilities, and Nick Chuey and Joseph Charest are running for Executive Vice President
The primary elections offer students the chance to get to know the candidates and the opportunity to choose the best potential representatives.
