From birthdays to weddings and everything in between, the 5th annual Winter Wedding & Event Expo has anything and everything necessary to make an event memorable. Check out the many vendors showcasing their wares Sunday, Jan. 27, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the CWU Student Union Ballroom. Admission is $3 per person and $5 for couples.
Dozens of vendors will converge on the Ballroom, transforming the atmosphere to one of energy and anticipation. Photographers, musicians, caterers and much more will be on hand to answer any questions and concerns attendees may have.
The CWU Student Fashion Association and Apparel, Textiles and Merchandising program will team up with One Stop Bridal and Blue Stone Academy to bring back a favorite: the fashion show. At 1:30 p.m. on the mezzanine outside the Ballroom, student and local models will turn the floor into a catwalk to show off the latest in bridal and tuxedo fashions.
New this year is a dress designed by CWU professor Andrea Eklund, which won the Educators for Socially Responsible Apparel Business Award for Sustainable Design, beating out the other 139 juried gowns. Made from recycled U.S. Army fatigues, this non-traditional dress is sure to inspire the minds of young designers.
Upon entering, don’t forget the free raffle at the door. The prize is a 1.5-hour photography session worth $350 from Idaho photographer Kirsten Cox.
