Public Affairs

Contact the Department of Public Affairs for help reaching out to off-campus audiences. We can lay out many options beyond a brochure or a news release. We can help you desgin effective communication strategies for:

STUDENTS - Public Affairs creates the visual identity for all student recruitment materials, from promotional items like pens and pennants, to Facebook ads and direct mail.

ALUMNI - With more than 80,000 alumni in Washington state alone, CWU is making outreach to alumni a priority. Public Affairs and University Advancement want to help you stay in touch with alumni.

BUSINESS - Public Affairs works closely with the Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations to establish mutually beneficial relationships, and to ensure communication is factual, professional, and timely.

GOVERNMENT - Public Affairs is the designated liaison with state and federal policymakers and agencies. Please contact us to respond to information requests, contact policymakers, or coordinate visits or communications with state and federal officials and agencies.

COMMUNITY - CWU welcomes opportunities to share expertise and information and to partner in educational, community and entrepreneurial activities.

PROMOTIONS -The Department of Public Affairs is ready to help you promote a new program, an event—or just about anything else. Your event may get along just fine with no more than an invitation, but it may need social media, earned media, and much more.  The Department of Public Affairs works closely with University Advancement and the Event Planning Office to ensure promotional strategies are coordinated and comprehensive.  The best place to start planning the promotion of an event is with our director of Graphic Design & New Media, Teri Olin.
