The William Owen Dugmore Psychology Scholarship

 
The William Owen Dugmore Psychology Scholarship is now available for student applications through Scholarship Central until Feb. 1.
 
Dr. Dugmore served as a Professor within the Department of Psychology and as a counselor at Central Washington University for over 45 years. He was invested in CWU students and the CWU community at large. He left several endowments to the university.
 
The purpose of The William Owen Dugmore Psychology Scholarship is to “provide financial support for students majoring in psychology.”   The criteria for this scholarship include: 1.) the student be accepted into the Psychology program, 2.) have a 3.0 or higher GPA, and 3.) have need as determined by the FAFSA or WASFA application.

Warren and Elizabeth Street Psychology Scholarship

The Warren and Elizabeth Street Psychology Scholarship is now available for student applications through Scholarship Central until Feb. 1.

The Street Scholarships were created by two CWU emeriti professors, Warren and Elizabeth Street. Mr. Street retired in 2008 from the Department of Psychology. Mrs. Street retired in 2012, also from the department of psychology. After receiving his doctorate in 1967, Mr. Street, then 24, came to Central Washington State College. In addition to his long teaching career, he also served as acting dean of the School of Social and Behavioral Sciences, interim director of academic computing, acting associate dean of graduate studies, associate dean of the College of Sciences, and both associate chair and chair of the Department of Psychology.  Among his many accomplishments, Mr. Street was instrumental in founding the CWU Douglas Honors College, serving as its first director.

Mrs. Street joined the CWU Department of Education faculty in 1979 and then moved to the Department of Psychology in 1983. During the 1994-95 academic year, Mrs. Street served on the US Senate Education Committee staff of Senator Edward Kennedy as an American Association for the Advancement of Science-American Psychological Association Congressional Science Fellow. From 1999-2010, she served full time as assistant to the president of the university and was a member of the president's cabinet through three presidential tenures, all the while teaching at least one class per year. In 2010, she returned to full time teaching in the psychology department.   • Applicant must have earned at least 76 credit hours.
