Project Management

Mission Statement

The Central Washington University (CWU) Project Management Office (PMO) is to provide a stable framework that supports all project teams and stakeholders to improve the probability of a successful delivery.

What is a Project?

According to Project Management Institute (the worldwide professional organization for project management), a project is "a temporary endeavor undertaken to create a unique product, service, or result."

Why does CWU do Project Management?

Project Management applied to a project increases the chances of a successful project and decrease the risk of failing to meet the project goals. To CWU that means the project is more apt to finish on time and within budget.

The Project Management Office provides support for information technology and related projects including:
  • Support for Enterprise Information Systems Committee
  • Development and application of project methodology
  • Status of current and proposed projects
  • Assistance with project identification, planning, initiation, execution, and deployment
