Central Washington University provides many opportunities for those interested in health careers.
Students receive non-degree advising and guidance for one of our pre-professional health care programs that leads them toward degrees that prepare them for completing their health care program elsewhere.
Central's pre-professional program options are pre-chiropractic, pre-dental hygiene, pre-dentistry, pre-medical technology, pre-medicine, pre-nursing, pre-occupational therapy, pre-pharmacy, pre-physical therapy, pre-physician assistant, pre-respiratory therapy, and pre-veterinary.
Why health careers at CWU?
How do pre-health programs work? Students choose a major at CWU they wish to complete. Some majors are more closely aligned with the prerequisite courses for many graduate programs.
While CWU offers all of the necessary prerequisite courses for pre-health programs, it does not offer majors or degrees in pre-health.
Students going into a health career will usually have to complete courses in the following areas: Biology; Chemistry; English; Math; Physics; Psychology; and Statistics.
CWU is connected with a variety of health-related community programs that offer skill-training for students.
