Mi Historia: A Latino’s Journey into Academia
Where do you come from? That’s a question Ph.D. candidate Erim Gomez will explore during his lecture Mi Historia: A Latino’s Journey into Academia Thursday, Oct. 25 at 7 p.m. in Science Building, room 147. CWU Provost Dr. Marilyn Levine will welcome and introduce Gomez.
Gomez, Ph.D. candidate in Biology, is a prominent Latino McNair Scholar and a Bullitt Environmental Fellow currently working with a $100,000 research grant in the Endangered Species Laboratory, School of the Environment, Washington State University.
As a Latino in the sciences, Gomez will share his experiences in upper degree programs, including his master’s degree and his current studies as a Ph.D student, as well personal advantages and challenges in academia. Q & A session will follow Gomez’s presentation.
