CWU Alums Use Genetics to Study Chimp Dispersal

In an article in the American Journal of Primatology, CWU alums Dr. Maureen McCarthy and Ph.D. candidate Jack Lester assess gene flow in wild chimpanzees in Uganda. Such genetic studies help determine how forest fragmentation impacts the genetic diversity, density, and dispersal patterns of these populations, which is important information for conservation and habitat restoration.
