Surprise your sweetheart with a romantic evening of chocolate truffles, sparkling cider, and two of the most romantic pieces in chamber music! There will also be a box on hand where you can write an ode to your love, which may be read during the performance. Throughout the first half of the show, quartet members will read dedications and poetry.

Among other works, the Kairos Quartet will celebrate Valentine's Day with a performance of one of the most romantic of chamber music works, Borodin's String Quartet No. 2. Borodin is said to have written this work, one of the most adored in the quartet literature, as a special present for his wife Catherine, to whom the piece is dedicated. Two of its melodies found their way into the 1953 musical Kismet as Baubles, Bangles and Beads and And This is My Beloved
