Dr. Quirk will preside. Dr. Gaudino is in Olympia today presenting at the Senate Higher Education Committee.

I. Action Items
1. Approval of Cabinet Minutes from January 28, 2009
Motion to approve the Cabinet Minutes from January 28, 2009 as presented by Dr. Tullos. Seconded by Dr. Street. No further discussion. Motion carried.
II. Discussion Items
1. Budget Forum
Ms. Johnson joined the group to discuss budget issues. She distributed several budget scenarios for review and discussion. It was suggested that Ms. Johnson meet with each of the divisions regarding their budgets to make sure everyone´s on the same page. For Friday´s budget forum, the plan is to go over the Senate budget and discuss some of the cost savings ideas that have come into the suggestion box. Dr. Gaudino will also give an update on his recent meetings in Olympia.
2. Enrollment planning for spring
Dr. Tullos reported that the University of Washington recently turned away approximately 400 students for spring quarter. We are hoping to pick up some of those students, but that doesn´t seem to be happening. Our enrollment numbers are up in every category for spring. Spring orientation for new students is March 12. Registration for continuing students is at the end of this month. We will be using the "Retain" system for the first time this quarter to connect with continuing students that don´t preregister. Dr. Hall will follow up with Becky Watson to see what´s been done, so far, for marketing for spring quarter. It was suggested that the enrollment summit group convene. Dr. Tullos will try to convene the group soon.
3. Economic Impact Study
Dr. Street stated that Dr. Gaudino asked whether or not we should do the update to the Economic Impact Study this next year. Mr. Vertrees stated that he would prefer to do the entire study again. He offered to follow up with ECONorthwest on the questions that Cabinet members have and will share that information with Dr. Gaudino before a decision is made to move forward.
4. University and Academic Assessment
Dr. Street reported that Dr. Gaudino suggested that she, Warren Street, Phil Backlund, and Jesse Nelson attend the next assessment committee meeting to go over the current assessment data. Dr. Quirk will follow up with Tracy Pellett on this and get back to Dr. Street.

Chief Planning Officer:
Dr. Street distributed information on Part 2 of the CWU Policies Manual. Cabinet members were asked to review the reordering and the categories that have been suggested and provide feedback as soon as possible. Dr. Street also distributed an updated policy to the graphic standards. It has also been suggested that a committee be developed to handle exceptions to graphic standards. Cabinet members were asked to review the policy and committee membership and send suggestions to Dr. Street as soon as possible. She would like PAC to review the policy next week.
V. At 11:00 a.m.: Ann Anderson (phone call) - legislative update
Ann Anderson joined the group by phone to give an update on legislative issues. She stated that she and Dr. Gaudino are getting ready for his presentation to the Senate Higher Education Committee this afternoon. Ms. Anderson will send Dr. Gaudino´s talking points to Cabinet members to review prior to his meeting. Ms. Anderson commended Jim Armstrong and Nancy Barker on Higher Education Day events. They have done a great job organizing the day´s events.
