8:30 a.m. - President´s Office
Present: Jerilyn McIntyre, Wayne Quirk, Rich Corona, Charlotte Tullos, Libby Street, Bill Vertrees, Jen Gray
I. Discussion Items
1. Budget planning
Dr. McIntyre explained that she plans to put together a binder of information on budget for Dr. Gaudino. Please get your most recent cost savings proposals to her by Thursday morning. Cabinet members each summarized their 5, 10, and 15 percent budget scenarios and several strategies were discussed. Several recommendations will be shared with Dr. Gaudino this week.
2. Enrollment planning for winter and spring
The matrix for winter quarter enrollment activities was distributed for review and discussion. Ms. Gray gave an update on winter and spring marketing activities. Dr. McIntyre explained that spring marketing plans must be underway in January. With regard to marketing to and recruiting at community colleges, Dr. Tullos added that the community colleges have not been willing to share their lists of graduates as in the past. Dr. Quirk reported that sections of Eng 105 and ADMG 385 were opened up as of last week´s suggestions. Academic and financial holds are reducing every day. Another "go to class" promotion is planned for winter quarter.
3. President Gaudino´s visit
Dr. Gaudino´s itinerary for this week´s visit was reviewed and discussed. He will be here all day Thursday and half a day on Friday.
II. Executive Reports
Provost/Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs:
Dr. Quirk reported that the deans are working on strategies to work with chairs on budget issues. They are also working on scenarios of possible 4-day instructional weeks. Faculty Development Day was Monday and it was well attended. Dr. Quirk will be working on reappointment files for the next couple of weeks.
Vice President for Business & Financial Affairs:
Mr. Corona reported that he will be here another 2.5 days and then will be off to his new home in New Mexico. He will get the most recent travel costs by division out to cabinet members before he leaves. He added that he has asked Steve Rittereiser to get back into conversations with the downtown folks regarding the computer repair program.
Vice President for University Relations:
Ms. Gray reported that University Relations has put all out of state travel within their division on hold. Ms. Gray has had several meetings with prospective donors recently. Development is currently building a relationship with Ferguson Construction. She also has a meeting on Friday to talk about funding proposals to submit to the Gates Foundation. Dr. Hall will be back next week.
Vice President for Student Affairs & Enrollment Management:
Dr. Tullos reported that Housing numbers are booming. The SURC is open late this week for finals. The annual SAEM holiday party is next week.
AVP for Facilities Management:
Mr. Vertrees reported that his phone number will change to the BFA office beginning next week. He will be meeting with Jim and Katie Gaudino tomorrow to review with them the work that is being done at the president´s residence. He added that he met recently with the USDA executive director to discuss CWU´s biofuel proposals.
Chief Planning Officer:
Dr. Street reported that the Native American Indian Advisory Council meeting was last week and it was wonderful. She reminded folks that she needs division organizational charts as soon as possible to include in the Washington State Quality Awards report. The joint transportation proposal is underway. The PAPSS committee meets this Friday to discuss speakers for next year. Dr. Street also reminded folks to get their strategic plan information to her as soon as possible.
President:
Dr. McIntyre reported that she is working on cabinet evaluations and hopes to have those completed next week.

Dr. Quirk distributed an update on accreditation activities.
2. CWU Research Foundation
No update this week.
3. Graduate Studies White Paper
Dr. Street is working on the draft and will be meeting with Dr. Fouts to finalize the document.
