Ms. Miller joined the group for a few minutes to discuss Friday's Board of Trustees meeting. The agenda was reviewed and discussed.

1. Approval of Cabinet minutes from 9/20/06
Motion to approve the Cabinet minutes from 9/20/06 as presented by Dr. Tullos. Seconded by Dr. Baker. No further discussion. Motion carried.

III. Executive Reports
Provost/Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs:
Dr. Soltz reported that the BA in Film and Video Studies is on the HECB agenda this week for approval. He added that Dean Bowers will give an update on NCATE at the Academic Affairs subcommittee of the Board of Trustees next week. Michael Launius will also update the group on International Programs. Implementation of the faculty collective bargaining agreement is going well.
Provost/Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs:
Dr. Quirk reported for Dr. Soltz. He had nothing further to report. See report he made at PAC.
Vice President for University Relations:
Dr. Baker distributed an update on the comprehensive campaign. He will be sharing this information with the Board of Trustees on Friday. Dr. Baker gave an update on commencement speaker possibilities. Wildcat license plate options were distributed for review and discussion. The group had two more suggestions for the mock ups. Dr. Baker will bring additional mock ups to the next meeting.
Vice President for Business & Financial Affairs:
Mr. Corona reported on Dining Services. All of the venues are doing well. The Planning & Project Rendezvous is tomorrow from 9:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. This is basically a workshop. It is not a decision-making meeting. A forum to discuss new businesses coming into Central Washington is being held in Wenatchee soon. Mr. Corona suggested that a representative from CWU attend this meeting. He will forward the information to Cabinet members. The Ellensburg Chamber of Commerce Installation lunch is on October 17. Mr. Corona asked who would be attending? Dr. Baker and Dr. Street will be attending. The cameras on top of the Science Building need to be replaced, so Facilities is looking into options.
Vice President for Student Affairs & Enrollment Management:
Dr. Tullos reported that housing numbers look good. She also announced that John Drinkwater will be taking on some additional responsibilities. His new title will be Senior Director of Campus Life and Student Facility Development.
Executive Assistant for Policy and Planning:
Dr. Street reported that the University Planning Forum is on October 18 from 1:00-3:00 p.m. in Grupe Center. The travel policy is still being reviewed by Academic Affairs. Dr. Quirk added that the Provost charged a committee to report back on this at the November Academic Affairs Council meeting. It will come back to PAC soon for final approval.
Administrative Operations Coordinator:
Ms. Dawson distributed an invitation to the Pierce County Conservation Awards Luncheon. Senator Patty Murray is the keynote speaker at this luncheon. The event is Monday, October 23. Dr. McIntyre is unable to attend because she is presenting at the ACE Commission on Women in Higher Education Conference in Washington, DC that day. If someone is interested in attending, please let Ms. Dawson know so she can RSVP by October 11.
President:
Dr. McIntyre suggested that a press release be done on the Spheres of Distinction proposals. Dr. Baker will follow up on that. Dr. McIntyre reported on the recent legislative visit from Tim Yowell. Mr. Yowell is new to the Higher Education Committee. The visit went well.

Mr. Corona reported that all of the dining venues are doing well.
3. Housing
Dr. Tullos reported that housing numbers look good. She added that this week they have started room assignment changes. Students who are currently four to a room have been given first priority to change rooms.
