8:30 - Barge 412

*NOTE: CABINET WILL MEET IN BARGE 412 THIS WEEK DUE TO A POWERPOINT PRESENTATION BY KEVIN NEMETH

Present: Jerilyn McIntyre, Dave Soltz, Rich Corona, Charlotte Tullos, Paul Baker, Libby Street

Guests: Kevin Nemeth, Wayne Quirk, Jim Armstrong

I. At 8:30 a.m.: Kevin Nemeth regarding Senior Housing Survey

1. Mr. Nemeth began by giving some background on Living/Learning Retirement Communities. He added that the research he has done on Living/Learning Retirement Communities has been very interesting. He also participated in a Web conference that focused on these types of programs and found it to be very useful. He described two different models: strong affiliation with university/college or located on university property or loose affiliation with university - not on university property, informal programming, and no name affiliation. Mr. Nemeth then described the survey. He added that there seems to be an interest in this program, so he would like to move forward with a feasibility study to see if the interest is viable. Cabinet members agreed that the idea is very intriguing and instructed Mr. Nemeth to go forward with more research on this program.

II. At 9:15 a.m.: Julie Cloninger regarding development issues

Ms. Cloninger reported that all solicitations must run through the development office or through one of the development officers. The development office is available to assist departments with solicitations, but departments must run through development when doing any type of outside mailings. It was suggested that Ms. Cloninger attend ADCO, Faculty Senate, and an ASCWU BOD meeting to explain these processes.
