I. Action Items

1. Approval of Cabinet Minutes from 10/25/06
Motion to approve the Cabinet minutes from 10/25/06 as presented by Dr. Baker. Seconded by Dr. Street. No further discussion. Motion carried.

II. Discussion Items

1. Homecoming debriefing
The group discussed homecoming details. Dr. Baker and Mr. Baker will forward their list of events to Ms. Dawson to compile a complete list of events that occurred during homecoming week. Dr. Street stated that we must make sure that the entire campus community is notified well in advance about the Excellence in Teaching Awards. Dr. Soltz suggested that it might be good to start with the events on Wednesday night instead of having a full week of events. Mr. Corona added that it really stretched his staff, so he agreed that a shorter week of events would be helpful.

2. Chamber of Commerce Legislative Day – November 14
It was decided that Rich Corona and Ann Anderson will be CWU’s representatives at this meeting, and Dr. Street will attend the luncheon.

3. Spheres of Distinction letters – Dr. Street
Dr. Street distributed the draft Request for Proposals -- Spheres of Distinction letter. The group reviewed the draft and discussed the process. The letters will be distributed soon. It was suggested that due to the February 28, 2007 deadline, a reminder be sent out in January.

4. Resource Directory – Dr. Street
Dr. Street showed Cabinet members a demo of the online Resource Directory. It will be populated soon.

A budget advisory committee meeting will be scheduled in early January.

Two new members were appointed to the Foundation Board: Jack Curtright and Madalon Lalley. The Finance and Investment Report was distributed for review and discussion. The Alumni Association Board met Sunday. It was a very productive meeting. The updated bylaws and the two-year term limits were approved. Dr. Baker added that Jim Armstrong is doing a great job organizing that group.

Vice President for Student Affairs & Enrollment Management:
Mr. Baker reported for Dr. Tullos. Homecoming week was very successful. All of the events were well attended. SAEM is having a “strategic direction” discussion with the university centers on Monday. Dr. Tullos will report back on this at a later date.

The group will be looking at what other schools do and will come back together to discuss issues soon. Dr. Street reminded the group that NWCCU training is in February. Our team needs to be put together soon, so that team leaders can attend the training.
