II. Executive Reports
Provost/Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs:
Dr. Soltz reported that Academic Affairs is spending a great deal of time on implementing the Faculty Collective Bargaining Agreement. Summer Session is going well. We are up in headcount, but down slightly in FTE. Continuing Education is discovering that since the incentive for teachers to get their Masters Degree is not as imperative as it was in the past, teachers are not attending summer school. They will be looking at the market and making some adjustments on course offerings for next summer. The Student Ethnicity data for fall 2005 was distributed for review and discussion.
Vice President for Student Affairs & Enrollment Management:
Keith Champagne reported for Dr. Tullos. Freshmen orientations are going well. Enrollment numbers look good.
Vice President for University Relations:
Dr. Baker reported that he and Julie Cloninger recently attended a CASE Conference in New York. Bill Gates, Sr. was one of the featured speakers at the conference. The Foundation is in the process of closing the FY 06 books.
Vice President for Business & Financial Affairs:
Kevin Kimball reported for Mr. Corona. He reported that there is a training session this afternoon regarding payment card procedures. Departments/individuals who take credit card payments will receive this same training.
Executive Assistant for Policy and Planning:
Dr. Street suggested that we develop some type of bi-yearly publication or letter to distribute to all employees that includes issues/events going on at the university. Mr. Kimball added that it might be good to hold a Fireside Chat for faculty and staff like we do for the students. This issue will continue to be discussed.
III. Old Business
No old business.
IV. Cabinet reports on community events & meetings
No reports.
