2. Board of Trustees Retreat
The Board of Trustees Retreat agenda was reviewed and discussed. Dr. McIntyre will present on Strategic Planning and the vice presidents will discuss integrated planning.
III Executive Reports
Provost/Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs:
Dr. Soltz reported that the Enrollment Summit with Student Affairs went very well. It was a good information sharing session and a very productive meeting. Academic Affairs is busy gearing up for fall quarter. Fall Faculty Day is September 18 and New Faculty Orientation is September 19.
Vice President for University Relations:
Dr. Baker reported that he will update the Board of Trustees on the comprehensive campaign tomorrow. Jim Armstrong and Mark Anderson will be presenting a proposal to Cabinet next week regarding tailgate parties at the CWU home football games.
Vice President for Student Affairs & Enrollment Management:
Dr. Tullos reported that all SAEM strategic plans are in. The division is preparing for the SAEM consultant to be on campus next week.
Vice President for Business & Financial Affairs:
Mr. Corona reported that Shirley Sadler is retiring October 31, 2006. A search for her position will begin soon. Human Resources sent out notices to divisions regarding the percent of evaluations that have been completed. Please review this information with employees in your division. Mr. Corona, Ms. Johnson, and Linda Schactler are reviewing the capital budget handouts. Mr. Corona also reminded the group to complete the National Incident Management System (NIMS) training by September 30. The test takes about 2.5 hours.
Executive Assistant for Policy and Planning:
Dr. Street reported that Doc Hastings will be on campus August 21, 2006 to make an announcement. Ann Anderson and Lisa Garcia-Hanson met recently with Dr. Street and developed a two-page document outlining CWU's Early Intervention and Outreach Activities to Improve Baccalaureate Participation by First Generation College Students. The draft was shared with Cabinet to review and provide feedback.
President:
Dr. McIntyre suggested that looking ahead to next year's Performing Arts and Presidential Speaker Series (Lessons of History), that the One Book, One Campus committee keep that theme in mind when reviewing books for the 2007 project.
