President's Cabinet

Present: Jerilyn McIntyre, Rich Corona, Paul Baker, Charlotte Tullos, Libby Street

I. Discussion Items

1. Board of Trustees retreat
The Board of Trustees summer retreat is July 25-26. The Cabinet will be presenting the university plans to the trustees on July 26. The July 20 Cabinet meeting will focus on finalizing the presentation details.

2. Email from Fred Jarrett regarding Interim 2005: The Challenge
Dr. McIntyre distributed this as an informational item only.

3. Governor Gregoire's visit to CWU-Lynnwood
The proposed agenda for Governor Gregoire's visit to CWU-Lynnwood was reviewed and discussed. The CWU representatives for this visit will be Ann Anderson, Margaret Badgley, Libby Street, Bill Vertrees, and Rich Corona. Dr. Tullos may also attend if she is available. Jack Oharah and Susan Kostick will attend as representatives from Edmonds Community College.

II. Distribution Item

1. 2004-05 Diversity Council Recommendations
The Diversity Council recommendations were reviewed and discussed. A response will be drafted and sent to the Diversity Council soon

III. Executive Reports

Vice President for Business & Financial Affairs:
Mr. Corona reported that Steve Rittereiser is working on a defined transportation route through the downtown area that will be called "Central Transit." This proposal will be put out to bid. Mr. Corona will continue to update the Cabinet on the progress of this program throughout the summer. The Business Officers had a conference call yesterday and discussed strategies to deal with all of the data requests that are coming in from the Office of Financial Management (OFM), General Administration (GA), and the Higher Education Coordinating Board (HECB). They also discussed the prioritized list of capital projects.

Vice President for University Relations:
Dr. Baker distributed the Development Office Gifts and Pledges Report and Annual Giving Reports as informational items.

Vice President for Student Affairs & Enrollment Management:
Dr. Tullos reported that numbers for fall are looking good. Transfer admissions remains open, but freshmen admissions is closed. The Blue Ribbon Commission on Athletics meets this morning.

Executive Assistant for Policy and Planning:
Dr. Street reported that the meeting to discuss travel issues went very well. Toni Burvee and Bruce Porter are preparing a risk management report and this will be discussed at the next meeting. Dr. Street attended the Governor's Education Summit on June 3. She distributed a summary of the discussion that took place.

President:
Dr. McIntyre attended the NCAA Division II Presidents meeting over the weekend and then on Tuesday, she attended the Men & Women of the 50's and 60's Alumni event. Following this Alumni event, she met with Patricia Kim, the Director of Education and Community Programs at the Seattle Symphony. Ms. Kim invited Dr. McIntyre to be on the Symphony's Education Committee. The Cabinet Retreat is July 27. Dr. Street and Ms. Dawson are still working on a location for the meeting.
