The mission of the University Police and Public Safety is to provide a safe and secure learning environment for our community through education and enforcement.
In fulfilling our mission as employees of the University, whose prime functions is education, every opportunity is taken to educate members of the community in all aspects of crime prevention, personal safety and potential law violations. In accomplishing our mission, the department becomes involved in environmental safety issues, property storage, campus crime statistics, campus planning, parking, as well as arrest, search, and seizure. The Department interacts consistently with students, faculty, staff, visitors and the host community of Ellensburg.
