Hannah Crowley a 2008 CWU graduate with an Art Major, Dance Minor will be returning to CWU as a performer in the upcoming evening dance performance of the Furniture Series. Hannah was a member of the Orchesis Dance Company during her years at Central. She currently resides in the Tacoma area and continues to pursue a professional career in dance.
Dance Program Director Therese Young and dance minor student Megan Zelenak’s choreographic works were submitted and accepted for a National Dance Association Dance Gala at the AAHPERD (the American Association of Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance) conference in San Diego, CA March 29th – April 2nd 2011. The submissions went through national adjudication, and the performances will include works by choreographers from across the country.
Eight Central Washington University dancers: Levonia Austin, Taylor Bir, Marianna Brown, Elsa Flores, Tamara Helland, Meaghan Kelly, Megan Smith, and Megan Zelenak and faculty member Gabrielle McNeillie will be performing the choreography. Program Director Therese Young says, “We are very excited to receive national recognition for the dance program and for CWU.”

Funding to help support travel has been provided by the College of Education & Professional Studies, Physical Education, School and Public Health (PESPH), Student Affairs and Undergraduate Travel.
