Wildcat Day – Is registration required?
Wildcat Day is a non-registered event, so please just show up. Check in starts at 8AM at the Student Union and Recreation Center located on E 11th Ave. Your parents and guests are welcome to join. If by chance you have any future Wildcats in the family considering CWU we have an Admission session for them as well.
Discover Orientation – Do I have to attend all sessions?
Sessions build upon one another. It is important that you attend all sessions. Students will register on after meeting with an academic counselor. Please arrange your travel plans to accommodate participation until as late as 1 p.m. for first year students and 4 p.m. for transfer students.
Discover Orientation - I am not available during the offered times of Discover Orientation. What should I do?
It is in your best interest to attend one of the Discover Orientation sessions that are offered. If you cannot attend, please contact the Center for the First Year Experience at firstname.lastname@example.org clearly indicating your conflict. If you do not attend discover orientation, you may not receive priority registration. However, we will work to help you register and make academic progress toward your degree.
Discover Orientation – How does CWU define a first year and transfer student?
CWU defines all students graduating with a high school diploma or students with fewer than 40 college credits as first year students. Students with Running Start credits are included in this definition. Unless you have over 40 non-Running Start college credits we are excited to host you as a participant in the First Year Orientation sessions and encourage you to attend one of the first two sessions. All new undergraduate students not included above are transfer students.
Discover Orientation – Can I change my registration after it is submitted?
Registration is editable via the registration page until two business days prior to your scheduled session.
Discover Orientation - I'm staying on campus the night before my scheduled Discover Orientation session. What time is check in for my room?
Please check in between 3pm and 10pm the day before your scheduled session. If you are a First Year student, you will check in at the Beck Hall Lounge as indicated on your parking pass. If you are a Transfer student, you will check in at Wendell Hill Hall A as indicated on your parking pass (you will receive a parking pass via your CWU email about 1 week prior to your scheduled session).
Discover Orientation- I am a newly admitted student, is Discover Orientation mandatory?
First Year Students: All incoming first year students are required to attend Discover Orientation.
Transfer Students: Attendance at Discover Orientation is required for most majors/departments. If you are unable to attend, please contact the Center for the First Year Experience at: email@example.com or 509-963-2735 for further assistance. If you do not attend discover orientation you may not receive priority registration. However, we will work to help you register and make academic progress toward your degree.
Wildcat Welcome – When can I move into my residence hall?
First year students can move in on Friday, September 18, 2015. Early September you will receive a letter with detailed instructions on when to move in for your specific residence hall. Transfer students are welcome to move in on Friday and participate in the first year activities, otherwise transfer students will move in on Sunday, September 20, 2015.
Wildcat Welcome – Do I have to attend Wildcat Welcome sessions?
All students enrolled in UNIV 101 are required to attend Wildcat Welcome. All other first year and transfer students are encouraged to maximize their CWU experience by taking full advantage of the sessions and activities provided. – see sample schedule at the top of this page
Wildcat Welcome – I am a first year with a housing exemption, do I have to participate in Wildcat Welcome?
All students enrolled in UNIV 101 must attend Wildcat Welcome. Early September you will receive detailed information via your CWU email indicating which events you are expected to attend. – see sample schedule at the top of this page.
