Orchesis, Central Washington University's dance performance company, presents its annual spring Dance Concert at 7:30 p.m. on May 30, 31, and June 1, in McConnell Auditorium.
The 30-member company brings a wide range of dance styles to the performance, which features the work of 11 choreographers including Orchesis Director Therese Young.
Along with various modern group pieces, this year’s performance features a variety of solos and duets including modern, ballet, ballroom, and musical theatre genres. A new take on humorous theatrical styling is choreographed to Rhapsody in Blue by graduating company member Sasha Rawlinson. Returning company member Lisa Barsotti will again tear up the floor with a high-energy, rhythmic tap piece.
Doors will open at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are $10 for general admission, $8 for seniors/students and $5 for CWU students with ID. Tickets are available at the door or online at www.cwu.edu/~wildcattickets/.
The performance is co-produced by the Physical Education, School and Public Health Department and the Theater Arts Department.
