Center members, $10 for non-members *Pre-registration is required Join our guides and your fellow students for some exercise and beautiful scenery in the Ellensburg area. Hikes range from easy to moderate difficulty levels, just check in at OPR to see where the hike is going. Make sure to bring closed toed shoes, some water and a snack!
Most Sundays • 7 - 9 p.m. • CWU Aquatic Center $5 per session • No experience needed. No experience needed. This is a great chance to become introduced to the sport of kayaking. Participants need to wear a swimsuit and bring a towel.

Mon & Wed: 7-9 pm CWU Aquatic Center, Sat & Sun: 9 a.m.- 4:30 pm on moving water $150 CWU students and Rec. Center Members, $200 non-members This introductory course allows you to become familiar with the fundamentals of paddling a whitewater kayak. Students will learn how to paddle, roll, and safely navigate class I & II whitewater rivers.

Friday evening; all day Saturday and Sunday $385 CWU students and Rec. Center member’s $400 non-members This course is designed for anyone who wants to be competent with skills required for river rescue. Whether you are a whitewater kayaker, a raft guide, or just a leisure river floater, the knowledge acquired during this course could one day save your life or the life of a friend. With one classroom session and then two days on the water, this course covers a wide variety of knots, pulley systems, craft recovery techniques, as well as how to recover, retrieve, and transport people in the river. All gear necessary for this course is included in the cost including dry suits, PFD’s, and helmets.
Consists of several online classes and tests (April and May online portion) that are to be completed by the end of Spring Quarter, followed by five days of hands-on training in June. $579 for CWU Students, $589 for CWU Faculty and Staff, $599 for General Public.
