The American Canoe Association (ACA) is the industry standard for paddling instruction and instructor training.  This fall, OPR will be hosting an ACA instructor training course for paddlers looking to expand their teaching and paddling abilities.  This intensive 5-day course will cover the learning process, teaching techniques, demonstration, gear, and safety. Students will learn modern paddling theory including strokes, maneuvers, rescue, trip logistics, river hydrology and legal issues. If you’re interested in getting more involved with our paddling program this course is a great way to meet other paddlers and get involved with the community.  This course is also a requirement for all of our Whitewater Kayaking instructors.
