The committees and councils of Operations division operate as part of a university shared governance system and report to the Vice President of Operations. Members consist of classified and exempt employees, faculty, and students. They meet monthly, at minimum, and have minor decision-making authority as well as make major recommendations for approval by the President's Executive Leadership Team (ELT).
The Enterprise Facilities Committee establishes and maintains an effective governance structure that links university facilities-related decision-making to the ongoing strategic planning process of CWU and ensures that enterprise facility decisions are appropriately considered, planned, and communicated to the campus community.
The Enterprise Information System Committee establishes and maintains an effective governance structure which links CWU technology (hardware, software, and information systems) related decision making to the ongoing strategic planning process of CWU.
The Health and Safety Council reports to the cabinet through the Vice President of Operations under the guidelines of Washington Administrative Code (WAC) 296-800-130. This council communicates and evaluates safety and health issues identified by the council or by employees in the workplace. The overall purpose of the HSC is to develop and implement efforts to motivate the campus community in creating and maintaining a culture of safety and a healthful work enviroment.
The CWU Sustainability Council collaborates with students, faculty, and staff to create and implement sustainability initiatives, and fosters a culture of environmental, social, and economic sustainability that reduces CWU's environmental impact and improves resource use efficiency.
