Getting Started with LockDown Browser
LockDown Browser is a secure browser for taking tests in Blackboard. It prevents you from printing, copying, going to another URL, or accessing other applications during a test. If a Blackboard test requires that Respondus LockDown Browser be used, you will not be able to take the test with a standard web browser.
Instructions: First you will need to have Internet Explorer 8 on your computer if you have a PC or Safari browser if you have a Mac. The Lockdown browser uses the settings for Internet Explorer or Safari if you use a Mac. Then you will need to quit Internet Explorer or Safari if you use it and launch the Lockdown Browser.
CWU has a site license for Respondus Lockdown Browser. Respondus LockDown Browser uses a standard Windows or Macintosh installer that can be downloaded by faculty or students from the following link (note: this link is unique for our institution):
