Global Literacy Development
Students in the Global Literacy Development Certificate Program will gain knowledge of best practices in literacy development and effective communication strategies. Certificate holders will be equipped with communication skills and basic knowledge about literacy development in order to support, sustain and enhance literacy programs for a variety of organizations.
Library Media Endorsement
The Library Media program offers endorsement to the teaching certificate. Individuals completing this 27 credit program will have met the initial level of preparation necessary to direct a learning resources (library media) center in a K-12 school. Completing this program and passing the West-E test will allow you highly qualified status under the NCLB Act.
The Literacy Program within the College of Education and Professional Studies at Central Washington University is proud to offer a reading endorsement option for certified teachers. With continuous enrollment, the certified teacher can earn the Washington State P-12 Reading Endorsement through the State of Washington Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction in five quarters.
Teachers from outside the state of Washington will need to verify with their state’s department of education if this program meets the guidelines for endorsement in that state.
