What's New in Blackboard Collaborate 12?
On September 10, we will upgrade to Blackboard Collaborate 12. The Collaborate 12 upgrade will provide enhanced scheduling, recording, grading, and access to Collaborate meetings with the following new features:
Participants can join Collaborate web meetings on Apple iPhones and iPads. The Blackboard Collaborate mobile app can be downloaded free from the App Store.
No More Headsets Required
Echo cancelation allows each single talker with standard computer microphone and speaker setup to participate without the need for a headset.
Improved Classroom Management
Instructor can view public and private chat in a single window and move to private chat tabs to respond. Instructor can toggle global permissions for features including audio, video, and whiteboard for all participants or individual students with a single click.
Integration with Grade Center and Calendar
Instructors can automatically assign a grade in the Grade Center for students attending a Collaborate meeting. Scheduled meetings appear in the Blackboard Calendar with a link to launch the session.
Provide access to web meetings for guest speakers and outside experts who are not enrolled in your Blackboard course. Add session and recording links to course folders and email them to external attendees.
